Agreed, and the cynic in me says that's why the armors in GWEN sucked so bad...
agreed mortakai and i dont know if this hasss been said but holy crap anet warrior armor is all f****** reskins probably with other armor to. so ya i think theres between 15-20 real origianl armor sets while the rest are all reskins. for example. i got monument armor second day of gwen thinkin o im gona look so leet then guess what happens. i notice that the helm is a reskins and slightly uglier templar helmet. then i see the chest peice, wait a second this looks exactly like my sunspear/kurzick armor, then i see the gloves they didnt even bother to change the elbow spike coming off the primeval armor all they did was cover it in white!!! then the boots which are basically luxon with a few missing scales. im not sure about the leggings they may be original but they are so ugly it does really make a difference. theres my rant...

You payed, you played, and you can pray, but let's face it, they simply don't care anymore. You actually expect them to add more content to Guild Wars at this point? They already have all your money, what motivation do they really have? GW is dead in the water until GW2, so you'd better get used to what you've got, because you're stuck with it.
I would be quite happy to PAY for this expansion if it gave me new armors, along with a multitude of very popular ideas like hairstylists, a selling town or other trade augmentation, and really anything else.

The storylines where you have to save the world is finished, at least with GW1. Now it's about your characters and their daily lives afterwards. I think it would be fitting that there be an expansion that follows that idea.

But, getting back to the point of the topic, It would be very nice if they brought the number of armors for Elonian Professions up to par with the Canthan Professions. And possibly, they might bring both of those campaigns up to par with what the Core Professions have. We have another two years, at least, before GW2 officially comes out and they start making money from it. I doubt that during that time they would completely abandon GW1 becuase, probably, a very large majority or the initial buyers of GW2 will be us. People who take the time to come to forums and ask for updates. They won't get those initial buyers by turning their back on a game that they have spent so much time crafting for the last 3+ years.

Yeah, letting us make Heroes' or Henchmens' armour would be a big increase in the number of armour available, with no rework needed. They can even be lazy and make it gender specific, like only females get a set of Margrid-style Corsair Ranger armour.

Does my Norgu-style armour make me look fat?

That's something I've been pondering as well (ever since I saw mysterious armour sets), there are some very nice hero-only armour skins.

Hands up all those with female Dervish characters who would pay 75k for Varesh's outfit. (You've killed her, might as well go through her wardrobe while you're at it and make it look like a break-in.)

My vote for female Warrior armour that would be so nice if available for players: You're one lucky gal, Lieutenant Murunda!

Since we're coming to the end of the game, perhaps A-net should let their hair down a little and overlook some of the rules they enforced on their design team.

I can see it now, lots of warriors doing synchronised dancing in Kamadan, dressed just like Koss. (MY EYES!)

True sadly enough, only reason i can come up with to add new armors and/or features is to convince the player base to buy gw2.

but even then they might just want to make advertisements for gw2 when it comes out, and ignore gw....

Exactly. So long as they stay silent, Anet can pretty much skate by without much effort over the next few months: October (Halloween Event), November (Bonus Pack), December (Wintersday), so don't expect any big GWEN-related announcements or changes. I think that all people are looking for is some sort of announcement, whether it be a conformation or a denial of what is going to happen: like green items in the valor monument (I would love to know if my green are going to be allowed, so I can finally decide to sell them or not), new armor, hardmode, SF-like expansion, minipet customization fix, better drop rate... the list could go on and on, but the I think we would feel better if we could just get a timeline or some sort of info as to what is going on.

I fear people are right, GW1 will get nothing more.

I feel sad - the huge, empty Tyria map hurts me!

We never got a free content expansion that mattered after Sorrow's Furnace. I hope they at least bother to work a bit harder on fixing GW:EN and adding a bit more nice little things than usual - they owe that their image, as GW:EN was all in all the worst GW ever.

Perhaps we should get new armors instead of reskins too.

STOP!!!

...ok now that I have your attention lol...

We have heard 2 perspectives on this:

A) That ANET could possibly add more content to keep players/fans happy

and

B) That ANET has your money and thus has no inscentive to add new content.

And before you get all depressed as you lose hope, or angered that you got ripped off, let us look at this objectively for a moment.

Yes, ANET does have your money. Yes, ANET has turned a profit. Yes, they are focusing on GW2.

But don't forget, this is not WoW. As you can no doubt assume, sales of GW:EN are limited to players with a GW campaign, so there is already a cap on the profit that can be acquired from sales that is directly proportional to the number of campaigns out there. What I am saying is that eventually ANET will stop turning a profit from GW:EN.

We cannot realistically expect GW2 for another 3/2 to 2 years. I think that sales of GW:EN will simmer down by then. Consider the expenses ANET incures daily (wages, utility bills, stationary, communications, etc). Now think of the costs to operate vs the income from GW:EN...

And I think you got the picture...ANET is betting on GW2 sales to cover their intermediary costs!

SO! This means that ANET cannot afford to lose its client base to boredem. In fact to cover their expenses they need an even larger client base than they have now! A bad release of GW2 yielding less profit then they need to cover their prior expenses could put them under. Its a somewhat risky business I think.

What does this mean for us you say? It means that neither A) or B) are fully correct. Instead, I think you can realistically expect ANET to very closely montior the state of GW1, while they devote as much time as they can to GW2, and you can expect that ANET will release some add-on(s) in the future. If there remains serious outcry for new armors I am sure ANET will provide them, but not right now.

Let me ask you this...what is the sense in adding new armors now? when players/fans will get bored of them in 6 months? From a marketing point of view it makes more sense to release said armors in 6 months to a year to regenerate excitement and interest in the game.

So, really this is about ANET keeping GW1 alive long enough to get GW2 out the door, not about making GW1 super-enjoyable. ANET is striking the balance, between what they would like to do, what fans want, what they can afford to do, and and what they can do. And you can be sure that if GW1 starts to slip, they will redevote their attention to making players happy!

Thats my 2 and 1/2 cents

I would like to see anet improve the Gwen armor (but I actually think norn ele looks pretty good).

I don't want any new armor's that will show up in the HoM. Getting the existing Prestige sets is costing me a fortune as it is. There 10 different sets of armor I can choose from (prestige) more if you count the 1.5k armor.

1. NCsoft is the backer of GW2 and so on, so they really wont be running out of money or profit anytime soon.

2. They probaly are ignoring the public not because they are busy with GW2, its because they want most of the issues to blow over in a few months or so first. Maybe so we will live or accept the problems.

3. Anet said that the rest of the design a weapon entrys will be added in a fun way. I am guessing its the mission pack bonus we get in November. And in that time, maybe they will add ways to purchase more things online, such as armors, weapons, additional content, ect....

The only thing fun now in GW that i do is play with a friend a few nights a week. The rest of the time i have trouble finding something i want to do. I would of really loved to have some new armor or new end game content.

I have to agree with you here. Making new content is time consuming, but, they could make an "Ultra Hard Mode" for the elite areas and 4x the rewards. That would certainly revive some interest in these areas once ppl get bored of GW:EN.

Looks very similar to the Luxon leggings to me. Maybe a few modifications to the model, but that's certainly what it's based off.

Which is all wrong on two counts: First, it just looks silly with the torso and gloves being so heavy and the leggings and boots being light (the female just looks top-heavy) and second because all the Ascalonian and Ebon Vanguard warrior (and even assassin) NPCs are wearing full armour - admittedly mostly leather, but not bare skin and not nearly so top-heavy as the female Warrior Monument.

On adding stuff to GW1: I quote from the PCGamer article: "We have a list of cool things we wanted to put into the previous campaigns but couldn't (due to time constraints on release)". The implication is that they are considering implementing some of them between now and GW2 - and with all the evil eyes that are being directed at GW2 and EOTN, I think, as a previous poster stated, that their incentive is to make sure they still have a fanbase when GW2 rolls around.

Echoing one of Gattocheese's sentiments: I wouldn't preclude the possibility of additional new and/or exclusive content being purchasable through the in-game store during the interim between GW:EN and GW2.

I hope that doesn't happen, though. I still have some faith in Anet, despite a number of wrongs that have been incurred on me. (the title-grind turn of EN) Some of our current mish-mashed EN armor sets are... awkward, to say the least. Personally I would like to see something Sorrow's Furnace-styled sprout in a few months or so.

Who knows, though. The developers know one thing, though. They've got to get people interested in GW2 enough to buy it, which makes me think that we haven't seen the last of some type of additional content that leads into it.

Just pray it won't be pay-to-play content.

It would be a critical mistake for Anet not to release any more content. As it is, I think the consensus is that EotN is not all that many people hoped it would be.

It might well be good enough, but not great. And there are more than a few people feeling hard done by their $40.

If this is their last hurrah to GW1 players and hope that we'll put up with it for the next year or more, and then happily buy GW2, then they are probably naive or limited by their resources. Anet needs to earn our interest right up to perhaps 3-6 months before GW2 launch, or they risk another EQ2.

I have a deep suspicion that Anet would need to fully support GW1 not just up till the launch of GW2, but perhaps for another 6 months after that. This allows GW2 to be fully reviewed and for fence-sitters to make the choice.

Probably not great examples but PS2 is selling twice as much as PS3, as was Sims 1 for a while after Sims 2 was launched. Because a product near the end of its lifespan, has the most content and has fulfilled its potential.

GW1 will not be GW2's competitor in 1-2 year's time when it will be launched. The competitors will be the few MMO launched recently, and possibly WoW still.

I expect something free along the lines of Sorrow's Furnace in the upcoming months. There's plenty of room on the Canthan map still. /hint
